As the 2019 Safety Stand-Down comes to a close, many construction companies throughout the greater Houston and San Antonio areas have gotten to know why United Tool and Fastener’s Safety Specialist, Charlie Gertson, is at the top of the list for safety training and demonstrations.

Those seasoned in the construction industry know that there are plenty of vendors to call for a required safety demo; but when safety is the number one priority, it’s most important to call someone who will make an impression on employees.

UTF’s Charlie Gertson is known for making those necessary OSHA, tethering and ladder safety trainings memorable with his unique presentations.

“Charlie is one of the top two safety specialists (demonstrators) in Houston because he’s so entertaining and gets workers to really remember the (safety) message(s),” one AGC member explained.

“There are plenty of safety presenters to call, but only Charlie really gets the workers’ attention and participation. It makes all the difference when it comes to safety.”

United Tool and Fastener offers a multitude of safety training, including OSHA 10 and OSHA 30, onsite fall protection training and demonstration, ladder training, Ramset tool training, rigging/signal person training, and first-aid/CPR/AED training.

“As a Safety Specialist for United Tool and Fastener and an outreach instructor for OSHA, I offer a variety of hands-on training and serve as a safety resource to our customers,” explained Gertson. 

“Since all jobsites are different, we conduct the safety demonstration at the jobsite. The (fall) demonstration consists of proper anchor attachment, inspection process of a harness, correct fit of a harness, and also what to do in the event of a fall.”
