United Tool and Fastener is sponsoring the 1st annual C3 career fair on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 7am to 3pm. The event will enable students from greater Houston area high schools and colleges to learn more about careers in construction. Specifically, the career fair aims to pair trained and employable high school seniors who have enrolled in Career and Technical Education Programs with companies in the construction industry.
“We’re extremely excited to be a part of this initiative in the greater Houston area,” United Tool and Fastener President, Bobby Williams, said.
“One of our (many) goals is to help foster growth in the industry and participating in a career fair such as this is one way to do that.”
In the past, UTF has participated in the Texas Construction Career Initiative (TCCI) High School Construction Career Day at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall in San Antonio by giving students a hands-on presentation about construction safety from UTF Safety Specialist, Charlie Gertson. The TCCI career day on April 11, 2018 enabled more than 600 students from at least 32 schools in the greater San Antonio area to meet with over 50 exhibitors and professionals representing various trades.
The C3 career fair will take place at the Fort Bend ISD Wheeler Fieldhouse, 16325 Lexington Blvd in Sugar Land, with students attending from Aldine, Lamar, Alvin, Alief, and Spring Branch areas. As many as 1,200 students are expected to attend the event to learn more about careers in the construction industry.
