On June 15, United Tool and Fastener outside sales representative, Brian Hybner, participated for the second year in the ABC/CMEF Fishing Tournament by helping to organize and run the tournament.
“I joined this particular committee because it is one of the largest in the ABC organization,” Hybner explained.
The tournament was held at TopWater Grill in San Leon, Texas, and was a great way for construction industry professionals to network and learn about other companies in the construction industry.
“The tournament is a very fun and relaxing event for all who participate, which include most major players in the construction market. We gave away over $1,500 worth of door prizes including fishing rods, reels and coolers.”
The event included contests for the biggest Trout, Red, or Flounder, or the ugliest fish with a top prize of taking all the money entered.
The 2018 ABC Fishing Tournament marks the 20th year of the event and was the largest to-date with 71 teams entered and approximately 290 attendees. At the Captain’s Party on June 13, the tournament raised over $25,000 for the Calcutta, an auction where tournament teams can bid on boats.
The top three teams walked away with prizes totaling nearly $23,000.
“This is always a popular event,” ABC Marketing Communications Specialist, Lauren Harrell, said. “The top all women’s team was awarded $500 in cash.”
