The unique mask design significantly cuts inhalation and exhalation resistance, thus making the mask twice as easy to breathe through, which ultimately increases comfort and lengthens work time.
According to the Sundstrom website, workers using a Sundstrom half-mask respirator and P100 filter enjoy breathing rates of more than 250 liters per minute (lpm) as compared to most competitive products (which generally allow approximately 95 lpm). The higher liters-per-minute rates ultimately enable workers using the Sundstrom respirators to manage much heavier workloads.
“What really makes Sundstrom different is that you only need one cartridge for the half-, full, and PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirators) masks,” Sundstrom representative, Jason Cashmore, explained.
Sundstrom offers two half-masks: the SR 100 and the SR 900.
The Sundstrom P100 filter is 10 times more effective than what is required by NIOSH, which is 99.97% efficiency, thereby providing 10 times the protection to workers. The highly efficient P100, in combination with the pre-filter, gives excellent protection against dust, mold, and all types of particulates.
The SR 100 half mask is an Air Purifying Respirator (APR) made of silicone and is available in three sizes: S/M, M/L and L/XL. The mask comprises two exhalation valves, which ensure very low exhalation resistance.
Furthermore, the valve covers comprise partitions to protect the exhalation membrane against dust and paint mist. The material and pigment of the mask body are approved by FDA and BGA for foods, which minimizes the risk of contact allergies. The elastic head harness straps of the mask are designed in a V-shaped loop and have a large dished crown plate, enabling a comfortable and safe fit.
The mask is used either as an Air Purifying Respirator (APR) in combination with Sundstrom filters and/or cartridges, or in combination with the SR 307 compressed air attachment (which is called a Type C Continuous Flow Supplied Air Respirator (SAR)).
A pre-filter holder for performance checks is supplied. It is best stored in box SR 230 or storage case SR 339.
SR 900
The SR 900 half mask offers an excellent fit, high protection level and very good breathing comfort for use in most work environments.
The SR 900 half mask is an Air Purifying Respirator (APR) made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and polypropylene (PP) and comes in three sizes: small, medium and large. The mask comprises two exhalation valves, which ensures very low exhalation resistance.
The valve covers comprise partitions, which protect the exhalation membrane against dust and paint mist. The material and pigment of the mask body are approved by FDA and BGA for foods, which minimizes the risk of contact allergies. The elastic head harness straps of the mask are designed in a V-shaped loop and have a large dished crown plate, enabling a comfortable and snug fit.
The APR mask can be used in combination with:
• Filters and/or cartridges from the Sundström product line.
• Remote filter holder SR 905 according to 42 CFR part 84.
• Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) SR 500 and approved filters/cartridges included in the Sundström PAPR range according to 42 CFR part 84. A pre-filter holder for performance checks is supplied. Best stored in box SR 230 or storage case SR 339.
