STI Firestop EZ Path Retrofit DevicesSTI Firestop has fire-rated pathway products that save time, resources, and costs.

The STI Firestop EZ Path Retrofit Devices bring deficient openings back into code compliance quickly. The two-part clam shell design installs easily around cable sleeves to restore fire and smoke leakage performance. The EZ Path Retrofit Device retrofits cable sleeves of up to 100 percent visual fill, restoring fire performance without the need for additional firestop products.

EZ Path® Retrofit Device (EZDR200 and EZDR400)
The STI Firestop EZ Path® Retrofit Device is designed to restore the ratings for overfilled cable sleeve penetrations. It comprises a built-in fire- and smoke-sealing system that attaches either to the sleeve or the barrier surface. The EZ Path® Retrofit Device comprises a heavy-gauge- galvanized steel housing containing intumescent materials that expand rapidly when exposed to fire or high temperatures (to close off the void area).

The two-piece design can be quickly installed around cable bundles and extended sleeves in addition to accommodating standard conduit bushings. Furthermore, the device’s square shape enables cable exit or entry from multiple directions.

EZ-Path® is engineered to save time, resources, and downstream costs.”

STI Firestop’s EZ Path® Retrofit Device restores non-compliant overfilled sleeve conditions in walls and floors. The cable capacity ranges from 50- to 100-percent visual fill, and the two-piece split device facilitates installation around existing cable bundles. Additionally, the steel backplate attaches directly to the end of the steel sleeve, and for flush-mounted sleeves, mounting tabs enable attachment to the substrate.

"The EZ-Path Series 22, 33, and 44+ Fire-Rated Pathways do not require regular maintenance when properly installed" according to the STI Firestop website.

EZ Path® Retrofit Devices are sized for two-in (2.197-in [56 mm] to 2.375-in [60 mm]
OD) and four-in (4.500-in [114 mm]) trade-size EMT or rigid steel conduit sleeves or
stubs. No additional putty or sealant is necessary and existing putty or sealant may be
left in place.

All new data communication cable penetrations must be routed through factory-supplied, maintenance-free, fire-rated pathway devices (such as EZ Path® Fire-Rated Pathways). For existing sleeves where cable fill percentage exceeds listed system specifications, a factory-supplied, fire-rated retrofit device must be installed. The device must be a two-piece split design with intumescent materials and allow 50- to 100-percent visual fill. The device must be UL Certified and tested to ASTM E814 (UL1479) and CAN/ULC-S115.
