Job Summary

Manage and supervise the daily operations for project warehouse facilities including material receiving and handling, inventory maintenance, control of pick tickets, staging, and preparation of materials for delivery or will call. Double-check that materials are correct and checked prior to pick-up or loading for delivery.  Plan and coordinate the efforts of the crewmen under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities

Be able to perform all of the principal duties and accountabilities of workers under his/her supervision. Lead and support all related processes, as requested. Coordinate and communicate work with co-workers on the job. Plan and communicate regularly with supervisor. Monitor productivity rates, and review with crewmen.  Point out deficiencies, explain them, and take corrective action,  if needed . Ensure that subordinates are qualified to perform their work, as it relates to their level.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience working as a lead in a warehouse, or a combination of experience and training, with a strong working knowledge of warehouse and receiving. Must have a working knowledge of and experience in material receiving and handling, inventory management, staging and preparation of material. Must have leadership abilities and organizational skills. Must be willing to jump in, get his/her hands dirty, and assist crewmen when necessary.  Must be at least 18 years of age. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move in and around cluttered places, and uneven areas, see and hear naturally or with correction. Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather. Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions . Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
