AGC Military ShootoutOn Aug.20, United Tool and Fastener (UTF) will team up with Houston Associated General Contractors (AGC) for the 3rd annual Military Shootout from 1pm to 3:30pm at the Boyert Shooting Center, 1200 S. Mason Rd in Katy, Texas. To register online, go to www.agchouston.org by Aug. 14.

Join UTF’s Safety Specialist, Charlie Gertson, and AGC for a friendly indoor shooting competition supporting active military and veterans in the construction industry.

“The event provides a unique networking forum for military veterans working in the construction industry, and also benefits unemployed vets by connecting them to commercial construction contractors who are currently recruiting,” said AGC Senior Director of Operations and Events, Tamara Hancock.

This year, the shootout is the No-Frills COVID-19 Safety Protocols Edition, which will ensure that the event is executed in a safe manner in line with necessary safety protocols related to COVID-19.

Furthermore, on-site participation is limited to the shooting competition only (no spectators, no recreational shooters, and no networking groups). Participants must be prepared to wear face coverings in the venue lobby and retail area. Specific protocols will be sent to registrants a few days prior to event date.

Competitors can take part in a Pistol Competition: 9mm (factory specs only; no accessories) and/ or a Rifle Competition: AR15 .223 caliber (no accessories; iron sites only; rifle will be fired from the standing unsupported position).

The Shooting Competition Registration Includes:

• Firearm rental (feel free to BYOG). Rentals will be cleaned after each use.

• Ammunition (limited to amount needed for competition only).

• Access to non live-fire simulators. Equipment will be cleaned after each use.

• Firearm instruction for novice shooters.

Those who have attended the event say “the shootout is a blast and a great networking experience”.
